"I continue to admire your work on Our State.

 Fantastic job!"

- Amy Wood Pasquini, Mann Media

Brian Faulkner is known for his storytelling style, warm, authoritative narrations and collaborative, no-hassle spirit working with Public Television producers and editors. First drafts usually require only minimal revision and can help transform an otherwise ordinary feature into a story with that special Emmy® spark.

CARL SANDBURG'S CONNEMARA:
An extensive tour of the Pulitzer Prize winning poet and Lincoln biographer's home and farm in Flat Rock. This was one of those pieces with a huge array of useful footage that needed a practiced scriptwriter to sort and present.
SOLDIER'S STORIES:
A reenactment of the Battle of Forks Road and the key role U.S. Colored Troops played in this critical Civil War engagement. Challenge was to balance reenactment footage, historical facts and comments by the main subject.
TRAIL OF TRUST:
Newly minted lawyer Trevor Thomas never thought he'd go blind -- and never thought he'd be walking the Appalachian Trail without his sight. This is one of those pieces with a terrific straight-line story and plenty of good B-roll.
THE PRODUCTION PROCESS:

Typically, the producer sends interviews and B-roll to Brian, or Brian may help conduct interviews in the field.  He then reviews time-coded footage and B-roll, transcribes interviews, writes a first draft script and submits it to the producer. Upon script approval (including any redrafts that might be required), he records the VO (if chosen to narrate) and posts a file to the producer's site. It's an efficient, time-proven process.

"Brian's audio arrives as a polished package --
already edited, equalized and balanced
for easy inclusion in the final mix."

CAMDEN COUNTY JAIL:
Imagine you're a young miscreant whose latest indiscretion has put some serious folks with big shotguns on your tail. As you run through a cornfield, your thoughts turn to the pleasant accommodations you have every right to expect when the law finally catches up to you and locks your no-account self in their no-frills country jailhouse with thick steel bars and decor courtesy of the folks who designed Leavenworth and Alcatraz.

The challenge here was spinning some great action footage together with tours of the cells that made Camden County Jail a less than hospitable place to spend your time -- unless you're just taking a tour. The script pulled action and history together in a memorable and entertaining way.
